The control stack

From joystick to joint

Each layer of the stack is designed and built by Powered Motion, so position feedback, power data and operator inputs flow through one coherent system — and the software can be customised to your specific application.

Layer 1

BLDC Motor Controller

Drives each brushless DC motor with integrated position feedback, reporting motor position, rotation, current draw and power consumption back up the chain.

Layer 2

Primary Controller

Receives data from up to 20 motor controllers and input sources — phone, hand controller or GPS unit — for real-time monitoring and automated task computation with minimal operator intervention.

Layer 3

Input Controller

The human interface: accepts joystick and toggle-switch inputs and processes them through the primary circuit board for signal distribution to each motor.

Layer 4

GPS & Lidar System

An add-on for the primary circuit board that detects position and obstacles, informing the primary controller of the machine's location and surroundings.

Made for the rest of the drivetrain

The controllers are built around our 48V BLDC motors and the RG600 reduction gearbox. Order them as a package and your equipment arrives with a matched, pre-integrated electric drive system.
