High-Torque Joints for Custom Electric Machines
Building a battery-electric machine, ag robot or autonomous carrier? Drive every heavy joint straight off the battery — no pump, tank, cooler or hoses for the sake of a few joints.
Evaluation unit A$4,950, credited in full against your first order of 10 or more. About 2 months lead time.
Why it works electric
Delete the hydraulic pack
If the only reason to carry a pump, tank and hoses is a few joints, a drive at each joint removes all of it — weight, cost, leaks and the power the pump wastes.
Made for small-volume builders
You don't need to order thousands. Start with one evaluation unit for A$4,950, credited in full against your first order of 10 or more.
Pick the ratio, shrink the motor
800:1, 1,200:1 and 1,600:1 are standard, with custom ratios from 400:1 to 2,400:1. A higher ratio reaches the same torque with a smaller motor, which saves battery.
Automation-ready
Each motor controller reports position and current, and our primary controller handles up to 20 motors — or use your own control system with the RG600 on its own.
Worked example: an ag robot lifting an implement
- A 150 kg implement held 0.8 m behind the lift pivot.
- Torque = 150 kg × 9.81 × 0.8 m = 1,177 Nm.
- It lifts 45° in 5 seconds = 9°/s — the standard 1,600:1 ratio covers it.
- Power at the joint while lifting = 1,177 Nm × 0.157 rad/s ≈ 0.18 kW.
Where it doesn't fit
Fast, continuous motion — drive wheels, fast-cycling arms — isn't what the RG600 is for. It is built for slow, heavy joints: lifts, folds, tilts, legs and levelling.
FAQ
Do I have to use your motors and controllers?
No. The RG600 takes a standard IEC B14 motor flange, so it works with your own motor and control. Our 48V BLDC motors and controllers are there if you want a matched drivetrain.
What does it cost to try one?
An evaluation unit is A$4,950, credited in full against your first order of 10 or more, with about 2 months lead time. We ship worldwide.
Send us the joint
Tell us what it moves, the torque and speed, and how often it runs. We'll come back with the ratio, motor and pricing — no drawings needed to start. The RG600 is rated to 6,000 Nm continuous with 10,000 Nm max for shock and peak loads.
