Why it works electric
A plug, not hydraulic couplers
Quick-change is only quick if the attachment connects quickly. An electric attachment needs a power and signal connector — no couplers, no oil on the ground, no air in the lines.
Built for electric carriers
On a battery-electric carrier with no hydraulic pump, every hydraulic attachment drags a power pack along with it. An electric joint runs straight off the carrier's battery.
Precise positioning
The motor controller knows the joint's angle, so tilt and rotate can be set to a position and held there.
Same torque both ways
Tilt forward and back, rotate left and right — with equal torque in each direction.
Worked example: tilting a grab
- A 250 kg grab with its centre of mass 0.6 m from the tilt axis.
- Torque = 250 kg × 9.81 × 0.6 m = 1,472 Nm, plus whatever it is carrying at its own distance.
- Rotating the same grab with its centre of mass 0.4 m off the rotation axis: 250 × 9.81 × 0.4 = 981 Nm.
Where it doesn't fit
Breakout and digging forces are hydraulic work, and on a carrier that already runs a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic attachment is usually cheaper. Electric attachments make sense on electric carriers.
FAQ
Can an attachment be fully electric?
Its tilt, rotate and fold joints can. Each joint gets an electric rotary drive powered from the carrier's battery through a connector, so there are no hydraulic couplers to connect.
What voltage does it run on?
Our BLDC motors are 48V, from 1 to 3 kW. Tell us what your carrier supplies and we'll spec the drive around it.
Send us the joint
Tell us what it moves, the torque and speed, and how often it runs. We'll come back with the ratio, motor and pricing — no drawings needed to start. The RG600 is rated to 6,000 Nm continuous with 10,000 Nm max for shock and peak loads.
